Dr. Pang Ming was born in a remote town in Hebei Province, North China. His family have been longtime practitioners of Taoism and Qigong . Around the age of 3, his abilities were noticed by his family, which began nourishing them. Later on in his life, Dr. Pang studied under 19 different teachers, some granted their approval to pass his knowledge forward. Dr Pang then studied Traditional Chinese Medicine. By the 70’s he was already known as one of the best doctors in Beijing, giving treatment to high ranked Government officials. He wrote a number of books on the subject. He reached the conclusion that the main goal is not only to cure disease, but to prevent it beforehand. In the year of 1973 Dr. Pang began working with a Qigong instructor, in Practice and Lectures. In 1978 Dr. Pang attended the first committee held by the Chinese Health Ministry on combining Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western Modern Medicine. In 1980 Dr Pang gathered a group of important instructors to discuss Qigong in China. In this time he started innovating a modern QIgong style, sourcing itself from Buddhism, Taoism, Modern Medicine and Science, Qigong (Folk), and Martial Arts. Dr Pang named this style Zhineng Qigong. He developed the idea of using the Qi field itself to study and practice, and unlike the traditional way he was teaching in large groups at the same time. In 1988 the ‘Shijiazhuang Center’ of Zhineng Qigong was founded by Dr. Pang. Following its success another center was opened in 1991. In 1992 a research department was established in Huaxia, and by 1995 the great healing center of Huaxia was opened. In that time Dr Pang founded a 2 year Instructor Training. In 1990 he wrote his books about “Hunyuan Entirety Theory”. In 2001 the center was closed. Dr. Pang continues to develop his theories at home, and remains in contact with only a few of his students.
